When a woman comes in wanting to flyer for a lost locket, Sid and Valerie are surprised when they find out what was in it. Zara is surprised when Daniel comes home with a guest, while Al struggles to deal with stopping smoking.

Ruhma tries to support a colleague who is on her first day back after a forced break. Heston rolls out an Iron Lung to celebrate 70 years of the NHS, while things are complicated more for Daniel and Zara.

Karen prepares the Mill for a special guest. Al is in a foul mood, while Daniel is forced to bring Izzie into the surgery.

Al hosts a couple who have differing views on smoking. Mrs Tembe and Heston have a disagreement over what biscuits to serve to a guest.

Al insists that Mrs Tembe and Heston need to sort their differences. They decide to go out for lunch to have a heart-to-heart, with terrible consequences.

In the aftermath of the incident, Rob has to talk to those involved, and the Mill has to carry on regardless.

Sid has to overcome his emotions when a shared tragedy threatens to push one of his patients over the edge. With Ruhma and Mrs Tembe still reeling, Rob becomes increasingly obsessed with the investigation.

When some of Daniel's patients suddenly question their diagnoses, he suspect someone at the Mill is working to undermine him. A moral dilemma causes Ruhma to wrestle with her conscience, and Al returns to work, but is it too soon?

Karen struggles with her emotions as she helps a widower and his beloved dog who can't face the idea of moving into a care home. Will Al get the answers he wants when the results of the postmortem and crash investigation are revealed? Elsewhere, Shak tries to get Ruhma to face something she'd rather avoid.

A mother struggling to bond with her daughter has a breakthrough in therapy with Jimmi as he uncovers an event buried deep in her past that she has been too afraid to face. Ruhma takes the first heartbreaking step towards giving Heston what he wanted, and Alia makes a shock announcement.

Emma helps a mechanic who is facing a family breakdown. Daniel gets a shock when he visits Mrs Tembe. Karen struggles in her new role at the Mill, and Sid faces Zara's wrath when he does a favour for Ayesha and Valerie.

Zara comes up with a plan to help an autistic man who is desperate to be more independent. The reality of what she must do at the register office is too much for Ruhma to bear, and Karen makes a decision that gives the partners another problem they do not need.

It is the day of the funeral. As the order of service gets under way, emotions run high inside the church. But Mrs Tembe finds herself unable to enter a place that has always been so sacred to her. Will she be able to overcome her anger towards God and say a final goodbye to her friend?

Sid struggles when his minor surgery patients make him feel inadequate. Will he be able to prove he is up to the job and win them over? Ruhma decides it is the right time for another chat with Al, but what exactly does she want to say? Zara and Daniel bicker over a bus pass, and Ayesha has a plan to get Mrs Tembe back to work.

Ayesha tries to help a woman with MS, but her efforts are challenged by a husband who is looking for someone to blame. Mrs Tembe is finally back at work but not in the best of moods. Someone needs to have a word, but who will draw the short straw? Daniel issues Zara with an ultimatum.

Rob tries to persuade a stubborn Immie to make peace with Karen before she leaves Letherbridge. Ruhma and Alia are shocked after they are confronted by a naked truth.
